Description
***Unit was updated in 2021 to accommodate for online learning***
This lesson focuses on the aspects of ASL poetry. Students will read, watch, and create poetry in a visual format.
All the lessons in this unit have instructions for the teacher and a hyperlink to the student project sheets. Work is for upper-level language students. Student project sheets contain step-by-step instructions of what students need to accomplish. They can be projected, pushed out in digital form, or printed and given to students in the class. If printing, students will need links to articles and/or videos.
The first page describes the unit and gives an overview of what should be expected. There is a short vocabulary list. However, the list will increase as students begin to discuss the material.
Any activity can be deleted, expanded, or shortened depending on the time you have in your planning schedule. Most activities, if not all, will have an extended activity that goes with them to offer extra support and ideas to you.
